The Tax clinic is an annual student-run event registered with the CRA’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). Its purpose is to give back to the downtown Montreal community all while enhancing the student life at Concordia University.

The majority of the individuals benefiting from our service come from a low-income bracket (many of them being students) that can’t afford to pay for their tax returns to be completed. By enlisting volunteer JMSB students who have completed courses in taxation, we aim to help balance income inequality by providing a necessary service for free to those in need. This event drives community economic development for the Montreal community, as our service helps improve the social conditions of those that are disadvantaged in the Montreal community.
