The Greening the G-Lounge project want to add plants, which are known for their air-purifying properties, to spaces in Loyola, starting with the Art Hive/ G-lounge. While a Carbon Catching Library was constructed in the downtown campus (EV5.775), there is none at Loyola, which deprives a large number of students of this opportunity. Creating this place in the G-lounge would not only help with the menace of global warming but also create a community of students and strengthen the bonds between them. Indeed, we intend to add plants to purify the air, but also to propagate them and encourage students to create their own Carbon Catching Library at home.

The purpose of this initiative is to educate students, make Concordia spaces more enjoyable to be in, catch carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and create a community of students that wish to learn about global warming and plants as well as students that want to engage in creative art in a relaxing environment.
