This project is a short fiction film that explores the issue of climate change in urban spaces. It will be shot in Montreal from August 28th to August 31st, 2017 and will feature a small crew of Concordia students, the producer and director of the film. The premise of the film is the following: amidst unstable weather, a young skateboarder sees her growing eco-consciousness conflicting with her social life. The film focuses on the micro-changes of climate change and examines how the impacts of climate change can be felt on very personal levels. Collaborating with a Montreal-based urban botanist, Roger Latour, the film will showcase a wide range of flora in the city, in the hopes creating awareness of Montreal’s biodiversity and the necessity to preserve and promote ecologically diverse green spaces.
