The Science College is organizing a conference on understanding and communicating sustainable research and science. This conference aims to educate both University and CEGEP students in all STEM fields to become enlightened on sustainable ideology. This would allow for the future generation of scientists to come up with creative and applied research. This is crucial to deal with aspects of climate change and resources exploitation. The event will highlight environment causes through interactive methods early on at the start of students’ career. By having professors and undergraduate students present research also allows participants to experience what it is like to conduct research at Concordia and promotes Concordia as a research University. Moreover, this conference has an overall aim of educating and promoting science in the public to allow for debate and dialogue between all participants. Such activities like the public lecture and not having an entrance fee allow for this public outreach to be possible. The primary goal of this conference is to increase science literacy and communication with regard to research on sustainability.
