Animating the Future is a special one-day, one-time only event that comprises a series of community-building activities designed to support and highlight the contributions of students, new scholars, and emerging independent artists who study and create animated media as a critical form of artistic expression. It will take place on June 18, 2018, the day before SAS@30: Then|Now|Next, an international academic conference on Animation Studies that will also be hosted at Concordia. The conference is the 30th annual meeting of the Society of Animation Studies, which travels to a different part of the world every year.
