In an aim to empower and increase income opportunities for student entrepreneurs and young business owners of colour, we are organizing a two-week virtual pop-up event of local goods to serve the Greater Montreal region in December 2020 and April 2021. This virtual market will provide a platform for young entrepreneurs from marginalized communities to sell their products and build networks with other local business owners. This will support local economies and young people of colour that include refugees, immigrants, Montreal™s large Haitian population, and other marginalized peoples. The event will launch with the premiere of a short documentary made by Concordia students on the story of three Black entrepreneurs in Montreal. The marketplace has the potential to become a hub for community building and resource sharing between principally young Concordia entrepreneurs and the community, which is increasingly needed with the current social distancing measures.
