ASFA Talks was a speaker series open to all students that will tackle issues within the Arts and Science disciplines. It sought to bring innovative speakers to inspire students and encourage them to think outside the box. The meta-theme of the talks was the concept of sustainability and how a vast variety of realms are necessarily connected and interdependent.

The 2012-2013 speakers included Ibu Robin Lim, 2011’s CNN Hero of the Year, who has dedicated her life to fighting child-bearing related complications in Indonesia, Alexandra Côté, a Concordia University alumnus who specializes in positive psychology, Jeff Rubin, one of the world’s foremost energy experts and author of The End of Growth… But Is That All Bad?, David Tordjman, a specialist in sustainable foreign aid, and Aaron Vansintjen, an MSc candidate at McGill University specializing in urban food issues through the lens of ecological economics. This speaker series was hosted at Concordia University on March 14, 2013.
